let's go to Kansas and have a drink.

I've been trying to find pictures of early drinking in Kansas. haven't had much luck so far. in any case here are a couple of pics I've come up with. top is of course Dodge City in 1870's featuring the famous Long Branch. next is an old whiskey ad featuring Carrie Nation and Mark Twain. Carrie was a good sized woman and strong. Kansas was one of the earlier states to prohibit alcoholic beverages but for years no one paid any attention so you could still get a drink.
