here is a picture of a type 93 IJN torpedo being launched from a destroyer I'm assuming since it is pretty close to the surface of the water.the type was designed to be used from surface vessels. the type 95 which was similar was for submarine use. the Kaiten one and two man submarines were developed from the type 93. the type 93 was far superior to anything the allies had. faster, longer ranged and more destructive.
