Motoscala Tarrago

Tuesday, October 25, 2011 | 0 comments

Pere Tarragó started to build scale model when he was a child. Just like many great modeler, he was not happy with the level of details that typical injection plastic model kits. So he started to add his own parts or alter to correct the kits. Soon, was building full scratch scale model with Zinc plates and welded tin while he was still a teenager. He started to make motorcycles in 1/6 scale mainly because he is a motorcycle nut. He used his own classic motorcycles to model after. He owned Bultaco, Ossa, Montesa, etc. Yep it is easier if the real thing is right in front of you.

Those models' throttle, brakes and shocks are functional.
You can check his other works and parts of them at right Here

Too bad that he hasn't built any Japanese bikes. I could pair up 1/6 Jim Goose figure and Kwaka1000. However, according to his site, he spends about 250-400 hours on one model so I won't be able to affording that.

Searching for Goose bike model

Tuesday, February 15, 2011 | 0 comments

I have been doing research on 1/6 scale motorcycle model. Mainly because I have to sculpt Jim Goose figure and I want it to go with a bike he was riding in the movie, Mad Max. So far I have been unsuccessful. The closest one I found was Minichamps, 1/6 Kawasaki Z1 900, which is bit different than the Gooses bike, KZ1000.

It is possible to modify the model, but it will be quite bit of work and the Minichamp is not cheap. It is like 185 US bucks….

The Miniatur Wunderland

Monday, January 3, 2011 | 0 comments

Miniatur Wunderland (pronounced "mini-ah-toor vunderland") in Hamburg, Germany, the largest model railway in the world. I want to visit there and spend about a week.

If you go to their You Tube page you can see much more footage from the Wunderland. There, you can see modelers showing how to build new sets and stuff.

I don't even mind working there as a modeler... Oh I don't speak German...
