cool trucks for a hot day

Tuesday, July 12, 2011

in the 1930's if you'd asked the drivers of these old trucks if they had air conditioning they would have said, "what's that?" most of these old critters had vents in the cowl and/or windshields that could be cranked partially open for fresh air flow. we start off with a Diamond T followed by a Scammel Mechanical Horse{English of course is the Mechanical Horse}. third is an odd looking streamlined tractor/trailer rig. believe it or not it's a 1938 International. forth is a Fageol tractor with trailer and last another Englishman, a Beardmore. Beardmore also made large diesel engines for locomotives and etc.
