Well, Chevy has announced that they will be producing all new electric small car, called Spark EV the other day. And there are shit load of electric cycles/ scooters of all types with new technologies and alternative routes are pumped in the market. Here is the German-Schwalbe E, the electric scooter with electric motor with 50s retro body style.
The E
-Schwalbe will be available in two versions: one with a top speed of 50 km / h (31 mph) and the other capable of reaching 80 km / h (50 mph)

Both versions are able to get within range of about 180 km(111.85 miles), using a new technology within the small batteries that power electric motors.

The production should start in January 2012 and it is assumed that the scooters will arrive in the European market during the spring. In February, the E-Schwalbe will be presented to DealerExpo 2012, the United States. Prices start at € 4699 for the latest "slow", and € 5799 for the "fast".

Hanebrink All-Terrain Electric Bike

Thursday, September 15, 2011 | 0 comments

Designed by Dan Hanebrink, the Hanebrink ATB has 14 speeds and an electric motor that can get it up to 40 mph on the road. Dan is an engineer who has designed vehicles for NASA and multiple polar expeditions. So it ain't made by some punk who thinks he knows what he is doing.

Sadly stuff that are made by established people/outfit have tendency to cost more. The manufacturers website, Fortune Hanebrink lists the starting price as $5,500 USD.

Orphiro, Electric Cruiser

Orphiro is a new electric bike, developed by a Dutch project team led by Alexander Steegh.

The bike houses five batteries , representing a range of 100 km (62miles). Top speed is electronically limited to 120 km/h (74.6 mph). The purchase price will be 49,000 euros, which is like 72,000 US bucks. Cheaper than some ugly custom bikes build by famous custom builders...

UNO III

Thursday, May 12, 2011 | 0 comments

We have posted a footage of early prototypes of the UNO, but now it has become a reality and claimed to be the "world's first real transformer". The electrically driven Uno III has three wheels, can be ridden like a Segway, using two of its wheels with a balancing gyroscope. Yep, it transforms into a full-sized motorcycle at the push of a button, though the technology comes at a hefty price, $5000 - $7500 to be specific. Now BPG Motors is accepting refundable deposits of $250 for Uno orders.

I have no idea about its performance. People are more inclined to talk about the transforming part.
