Pere Tarragó started to build scale model when he was a child. Just like many great modeler, he was not happy with the level of details that typical injection plastic model kits. So he started to add his own parts or alter to correct the kits. Soon, was building full scratch scale model with Zinc plates and welded tin while he was still a teenager. He started to make motorcycles in 1/6 scale mainly because he is a motorcycle nut. He used his own classic motorcycles to model after. He owned Bultaco, Ossa, Montesa, etc. Yep it is easier if the real thing is right in front of you.

Those models' throttle, brakes and shocks are functional.

Too bad that he hasn't built any Japanese bikes. I could pair up 1/6 Jim Goose figure and Kwaka1000. However, according to his site, he spends about 250-400 hours on one model so I won't be able to affording that.

[Desi Tarka] Shruti`s magic rules

Offers are raining on charming Shruti Hassan. In Telugu, she is going places with big projects falling in her hands. And in Tamil too, she is doing pretty well. Despite her busy schedule as an actress, Shruti is still lending her voice to film songs. She has sung a raunchy item song for the Tamil film, Osthi, which is remake of Hindi blockbuster Dabangg.

On the other hand, she is playing female lead in the Telugu version of Dabangg opposite Pawan Kalyan. Titled Gabbar Singh, the film is currently under progress.

She is also currently working on NTR`s Dammu and Siddharth's O My Friend in Telugu. Her first Tamil film as the lead actress with Suriya is set for grand release.

at the train show

today at the county building on 21st and ridge road was an electric train show. i went with a friend and my sister and niece. sancho and his dad were there as well. even john fries showed up. i had no idea he liked electric trains. he must have spotted me too as he escaped out the side door before i could catch up with him. he has become a bit odd in the last few years. i did manage to score a Lionel MKT switch engine and a MKT caboose as well. the first pic is of a Marx train set with box. much like the one that got me started on trains. next is another Marx set, a streamliner, i have one of these too. third we have a Lionel set and fourth is the Lionel girl's set in pastel colors. these were not very popular when they were brought out but now are worth quite a bit if you can find one. last is a Hafner wind up set. Hafner was a competitor of Marx in the cheap toy like trains with wind up power. i would like to have one though.
