maden, Short for Tama -densha, Tama is a name of a station master of Kishi station in Wakayama prefecture, Japan. Densah means electric rail-road car.It seems that the popularity of the cat pretty much saved Wakayama rail road company financially. Sometimes I am amazed that there are so many cat lovers and famous cats in Japan.
