here are some pictures of various tank engines/locomotives. the first is a French side tanker designed to run cab forward so as to lessen the smoke and cinders and also for better vision. tank engines are usually used on short trips, in tunnels, for tram use in the city, as switchers and also were used a lot on the docks. next we have a little 2-4-0 saddle tanker for tram use. third is a restored English Peckett 2-6-0 saddle tank engine. fourth is an East German 2-10-2 side tank locomotive, a large one. and last we have a 0-6-0 side tank engine for the English Great Western Railway.
