i've been cooking navy beans all day so here's another navy picture. USS Petrel a Spanish-American War veteran. fought in Admiral George Dewey's squadron at the battle of Manila Bay in 1898. one of the navy's smallest gunboats she was called the "baby battleship" because of her heavy armament. 4 six inch naval rifles, two of them are visible in this picture. also an assortment of lesser guns which made the little gunboat something to be reckoned with.
