it's armored cruiser Wednesday. here is the USS Brooklyn under way. she was the flagship of Commodore Winfield Scott Schley at the battle of Santiago off the coast of Cuba during the Spanish- American War of 1898. she was thus present at the defeat of the vastly outclassed Spanish Navy under Admiral Pascual de Cervera y Topete.
