A British Armored Train?

used in the 2nd Boer War by the British and called "Hairy Mary". the locomotive was covered in large quantities of heavy hemp rope. the cars were lightly armored with metal. doesn't look like it would work but it did. one British officer allowed as how the enemy disliked them intently when they appeared upon the scene.
