No Beanie In Italy
Monday, October 25, 2010
Beanie Helmet, preferred by bikers who wants to look badass, yet wants more protection than a bandanna, is outlawed in Italy. It has been banned for a while actually, but it has been tolerated since it was still allowed for 50cc scooter riders.
"Only motorcycle helmets approved by the ECE/ONU22 homologation certificate are allowed."
I wonder those vintage look Davida helmets still pass the standard.
If you get caught riding with a beanie helmet, even as a foreign visitor, you will be fined between €79 and €299, and impound your bike. No kidding.
