I don't know about you, but I grew up watching Japanimations on giant robots, then drooled over on ED209 from 1987 movie, "Robo-Cop" or the exoskeleton from "Aliens" and wished I had one of those to play with. I guess guys from a Japanese company, Sakakibara Kikai Co. LTD did the same...They have made "Kid’s Walker". The company basically designs, manufacturers and sells environmental equipments, feeding machines for livestock, but also does intelligent robotics and amusement-related machines. They have made robot walkers as a tool of honing their employee's skills. Then realized that kids would love those as well, so they made "Kid's Walker", which comes in at around 5 1/4 feet tall (1.6 meters), weighs just under 400lbs and features kid-friendly controls that limit the machine’s capabilities because you stick a kid in a powered exoskeleton suit and many things are likely to be destroyed or killed. The Kid’s Walker technically doesn’t really ‘walk’ either, but shuffles along on a pair of wheel-equipped feet kind of like someone learning to use roller skates, but again, it’s all to keep kids safe. The cost of the suit is estimated to be around $21,000, though Sakakibara Kikai has no plans to put it into production.
