i thought for the Marines amongst us i would post these pictures. top picture is the Marine Detachment of the USS New York BB-34 in 1917. bottom picture is of the New York herself under flank speed 21.5kts. pretty impressive. when launched she was the most powerful battleship of all the world's navies. a main battery of ten 14" naval rifles.
