5 Beautiful Pickups from the past

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

for some reason i was cogitating on pickups today. these are my favorite five of all time. no. 1 is a 1947 KB1 International 1/2ton. no. 2 is a 1937 Studebaker which i think they called a Coupe Express. it was basically a Studebaker Dictator made into a pickup. as such it had all the luxury appointments inside like the car. a step up from your average pickup. no. 3 is a 1929 Ford Model A Roadster Pickup. the only one here with a 4cyl. engine. the others have 6 cyl. except the Hudson i think could also be had with a straight 8. no. 4 is a 1947 Hudson also a little more luxurious than the Dodge the Ford and the International. and finally we come to my all time favorite the 1936 Dodge. all of these are great but there is something about the Dodge that i always liked a little better. i used to own a 1929 Ford like this one only a little scruffier than the one shown here. a friend of mine in California had a 1936 Dodge. i used to help him feed the pigs with it. a friend here in Wichita has a KB-1 International. i'm always trying to get him to sell me it. but, of course he won't. the selfish swine. never knew anyone with a Studebaker like this one or the Hudson but i've seen a few.
