Lohner-Porsche Elektromobil
Monday, November 22, 2010
so far this is the earliest hybrid car i can find. it was displayed in 1900 in the Paris Exposition. at first it was entirely electric with batteries and a range of 38 miles. as you can see the electric motors are in the front wheels thus making this one of, if not the first, front wheel drive automobiles. a year or two later Porsche added an internal combustion engine to the vehicle in order to charge the batteries. this makes the Elektromobil perhaps the first hybrid automobile ever made.
