Coolware Personal Cooling System

Sunday, April 24, 2011

We are in the Mid-West of USA, that means usually we have either magma hot weather or nut shrinking freezing cold weather. Not much in between. Yeah the temp here is getting high and we will not need any jackets in day time riding. Riding hot sucks balls to me since I sweat like a fat athlete; I get blinded by my own sweat trickling down from the forehead so I am all for riding cool.
We have discussed a personal AC unit for riders before, now there is a new and cheaper personal cooling system on market. It is called Coolware Personal Cooling System !!
"Inside it's high-tech exterior is a micro-evaporation system and dual two-speed fans that deliver a steady mist to keep you cool and comfortable. Features on-board water reservoir with anti-microbial fabric in the water chamber, silent operation and lightweight comfortable design. Comes with 2-oz. water bottle for one-the-go cooling and 1 'AA' battery for up to 20 hours of use. Full weight is a mare 236grams 1-year limited warranty. "

Sounds neat, right? Might not be a bad idea for under 40 bucks, right?

Wrong.

According to an user review at Amazon, this is a piece of shit.
"This fan looks very impressive but does not produce much air. The inner silver side that rests on your neck is designed to remain cool once the water chamber has water and air comes out of the front small black section to cool your face, but believe me, on a very humid day the entire device actually causes you to sweat more since it is not very powerful."

Ahahahahaha. I guess I will stick with wet towel/bandanna around my neck then or even this product seems reasonable .
