Hang Glider + Trike
Wednesday, April 13, 2011
Developed by a mechanical engineering professor, Dr. Carsten Mehring of the Colorado School of Mines, the StreetFlyer provides its user with the sense of flying just about three feet off the ground and without the dangers associated with hang- or paragliding, for example. the StreetFlyer:
"is a human-powered, light-weight carbon-fiber vehicle that allows you to get a running start and then simply put your legs up to get into a horizontal hang gliding position using a body-harness”
Just like hang gliding, you don't get to power thing this. There are no pedals. So all you do is going down hill. I guess "human-powered" means someone pushing you behind....I don't think I like it... let's put a small motor in it.
