.22lr{long rifle}

the .22lr cartridge was developed by the J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. in 1887. it may be the most popular cartridge ever as people all over the world use it. it comes in jacketed hollow point, hollow point, solid point, jacketed solid point and a small shot shell. the bullets weigh from 20 to 60 grains. the cartridges themselves also come as subsonic, standard velocity, high velocity and hypervelocity...a very versatile cartridge indeed. people tend to think of the .22lr as not so dangerous due to it's small size.
not so! these things are extremely dangerous. people can be shot with these and seem ok for a couple of days only to die suddenly a day or so later. never point a loaded gun at anyone unless they are trying to harm you. .22lr's are my favorite cartridge for sure since i shoot targets and they can be very accurate up to even 200yards. they are also good to teach someone to shoot with as they make little noise and don't kick much either. from the top we have a jacketed hollow point, a solid point, and a jacketed solid point known as fmj or full metal jacket. if you don't shoot it is never too late to start. if you already do you know how much fun it is. i'll finish off by saying buy more ammo, some targets and have fun!
