Van Order early racer and photographer of motorcycle board track racing. first one is of Arthur Mitchell. check out the track rising up behind him. how'd you like to ride on that? when these guys got up to speed they rode right up and along it. some of these old bikes were capable of more than 100mph. next is a shot of racer Harry Crandall and finally a shot of riders on a board track. there is a short article in the April, 2011 Smithsonian Magazine on A.F. Van Order by David Schonauer quite interesting. too bad Van Order didn't make a book of his photos.
