tonite we have the Patek-Phillipe Super Complication pocket watch. this watch made for Henry Graves Jr. was completed in 1933. it took two years of design work followed by five years of production and assembly to make the watch. the watch has a different horological function for each hour of the day and was the world's most complicated watch until 1989 when Patek-Phillipe made a watch with even more complications. the watch pictured here contains 430 screws, 120 various movable parts and 70 jewels. it sold at auction in 1999 for $11,003,500 to an anonymous middle eastern bidder. it is now in the Patek-Phillipe museum. a little heavy for daily carry the watch weighs slightly more than 16oz. and would hardly fit in your watch pocket. truly an amazing time piece. however, for just keeping time and nothing else a good US made Railroad Grade pocket watch would do just as well. it would fit in your pocket too.
