just for comparison with the Patek-Phillipe Super Complicated Pocket Watch i'm showing this straightforward Elgin Railroad Grade Pocket Watch. even though a complicated machine in it's own right, it is nowhere as complex as the Patek-Phillipe. of course all the Elgin has to do is tell time in seconds, minutes and hours the Patek-Phillipe also tells the phase of the moon the date etc. ad infinitum so has to be more complicated. indeed each of those features is known as a complication. the old Elgin is a 1903 dated watch with a 19 jewel B.W. Raymond movement. a fine timekeeper. i got this picture from oldwatch.com i've gotten watches from them and recommend them highly. check out the site for more mouth watering pictures of watches.
