i was just sitting around contemplating beer and brownies when it occurred to me. what is the oldest brewery in the USA? it is Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville, PA founded in 1829. as worldwide breweries go that's not very old. i used to drink beer with a doctor i knew at the VA. he was from Czechoslovakia and told me as a student he drank beer at a brewery that had been brewing beer since 1456. now that's an old brewery. but for the USA 1829 is pretty old. you can only get this stuff on the east coast. fortuneatly my brother lives on the east coast so occasionally i can drink a Yuengling. it's a very good, tasty cheap beer. and that's hard to beat.
