Swiss group Design Werk recently unveiled their sleek Zerotracer electric motorcycle

This bike, The Zerotracer might have replaced my favorite electric motorcycle so far, e-Rockit.

As you see, the bike is a fully-enclosed with a Kevlar body. Its juice is coming from the solar array at their headquarters. Yep completely clean energy. Because the bike is enclosed, you obviously can’t use your legs to keep the bike upright when it is not moving, so the bike uses a pair of retractable wheels that can quickly lower to the ground and stabilize the vehicle. The bike also has a rear seat that makes it much more useful as a transporter for people and supplies.

It's designed to take part in the first-ever "around the world in 80 days" using only renewable energy in the upcoming Zero Emissions Race being organized by SolarTaxi veteran, Louis Palmer. Which starts on August 15 in Geneva, Switzerland and they plan to go through 22 countries and get back to Geneva on January 22, 2011. Exciting isn't it? That is possibly the best road test you can have and date gathered during the race could improve next one and hopefully applied to mass produced version( please make it available for public....)

The Zerotracer is a tandem seat, fully-enclosed, all-electric motorcycle that is capable of driving 450km (280 miles, Yes!!) on a single charge, has a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph Yeah!!), and zero-to-100km/h(60mph) acceleration in 4.5 seconds. Sweet!! Most of electric bikes available so far were about 40 miles of range and top speed of 60mph, so this bike is a total badass!!

I just wonder about weather, though...(AC and heater, defrost, wiper?)...Doesn't seem like you can roll the window down or anything...
